Froim mid-November to mid-December there were approximately 125,000 unique visitors on the Maven site. With Maven being primarily a work-related technology, the traffic profile follows a predictable weekly oscillation with Monday and Tuesday traffic the highest and traffic trailing to a low on Saturday and Sunday. From the looks of it, Maven traffic is somewhat stable, the site garners just over 100,000 unique visitors a month. Traffic shows steady growth – the same period in 2006 showed monthly unique visitors @ around 76,000 per month.
Some non-scientific conclusions: Maven has moved into the workplace. I think you’ll see Maven being used more and more as the first-choice for enterprise build tools. While there is still work to do on the documentation front, the technology has shown itself to be capable and mature. In the absence of improvement, I think the community could count on continued low-level growth for the next 12 months.
Over the next few months I’m going to post some suggestions for helping to increase traffic and tool adoption.
